About Us

Who We Are

Gititu Coffee Growers Co-operative Society Limited was registered under CS No. 0424 in 1954 as a Farmers’ Cooperative Society Ltd.

Gititu Coffee Growers Cooperative Society Ltd was registered in 1954 as a farmers’ organization (FO) under the auspices of the Cooperative Societies Act (CSA). The primary objective of the Society is spelt out as to promote the economic wellbeing of members in line with the Society’s mission –to maximize members’ returns through observing best, value addition, agricultural practices and use of modern technology in coffee farming. To achieve this mandate, the cooperative operates under its own by-laws prepared and approved by the members. The By- laws provide for a regular forum for policy and decision making by the members.

It is located in Githunguri Sub-County, Kiambu County, Kenya, with an altitude ranging between 1400 to 2000 m (4,500-6,800 ft) above sea level.

The Society’s headquarters is at Gititu Main Factory and operates 8 wet mills, namely:

We carry out farming activities, collect coffee from our registered producers, conduct wet processing, handle marketing, and ensure timely payments are made to the respective producers.
